Event Description

A unique FIPSE Pilot Project (the A.S. Bookloan Program at City College of San Francisco) gives textbooks to thousands of financially disadvantaged, college students every semester and also promotes Open-Textbooks!

"Bookloan" is entirely run by students and they need help serving their mass of peers waiting to borrow books.

Volunteers can expect to loan books to hundreds of students each day, work in a high energy student environment and see thousands of students' smiling faces after getting to borrow $200+ dollars worth of textbooks for free.

Volunteers, please attend our mandatory training session on either Fri.(1/7) 12-2pm OR Mon.(1/10) 12-2pm or 5-6pm.

Volunteers are needed anytime between Jan. 10th through Jan. 28th, 2010

If you can commit to volunteering, please enter your available hours in this google doc (it helps for accurate scheduling): https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AikQdrGVaBgNdE43MkU5eHBhMTRYUEJINkdoRXJQRGc&hl=en&authkey=CPC_nsQM

Thank you!!
(PS: opening day is Jan. 11th, the day when the most students will show up)
