A Gentle Introduction to the Art of Mathematics

I've written a free / open source book for an "introduction to proofs" course called "A Gentle Introduction to the Art of Mathematics" (GIAM for short).  GIAM is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License and is freely available as a PDF at www.southernct.edu/~fields/GIAM/.  Also at that site are a multitude of solutions and hints for exercises and the LaTeX source code for the book.  GIAM has chapters on logic, set theory, relations and the cardinality of sets interspersed with chapters on various proof techniques.

Hi Joe,
Glad you have joined College Open Textbooks and the Author Group. Can you tell me a little about your open textbook Math book? Do you host it yourself or is it hosted at one of the repositories. We'd love to add it to our College Open Textbooks list if you would like. Also, I am giving a presentation this week to the Math, Science division of College of San Mateo, a community college in Northern CA and am looking for good examples of open textbooks to share.
Thanks,
Una

Welcome, Joe. Do you work with Rebecca Hedreen at So Connecticut State. I had the pleasure of meeting her this fall online. She is one amazing librarian!!

Please let me know if I can answer any questions. Don't forget to check out our booklist at collegeopentextbooks.org if you haven't already. There are peer-reviews of some of the books as well.

Best Regards,
Una Daly
