What are the advantages of adopting an electronic textbook?

Electronic textbooks allow for -

* electronic bookmarking and highlighting
* keyword searches
* electronic mail
* links to Web resources related to the topic
* ways for teachers to customize the information for their students
* hyperlinked definitions and word pronunciation
* language translation
