What a coincidence! The day after I send a message out about copy editing for open textbooks, Merrill Perlman writes a rant about the need for editing on cnn.com. The one thing I would add is that many embarrassing mistakes are not as obvious as the ones she cites. I found several in my son's 9th grade physics textbook.
